How do I register for a competition?

All registration happens on Smoothcomp. Create a free Smoothcomp account, find the event on our competitions page, and pick your division. The Register button on this site always takes you straight to the next event.

When does registration close?

Registration closes 6 days before each event. We recommend registering early, popular divisions fill up fast.

How much does it cost to enter?

Entry fees are listed on each event's Smoothcomp page. Newsletter subscribers get early access to registration discounts, so it's worth signing up.

Can I change my division after registering?

You can update your registration on Smoothcomp while registration is still open. If registration has already closed and something isn't right, email us at info@grappling-series.com and we'll do our best to help.

What divisions can I compete in?

We run Gi and No-Gi divisions split by belt, age, and weight, covering kids, juveniles, adults, and masters. The full division list for each event is on its Smoothcomp page.

Is this suitable for a first competition?

Absolutely. Athletes of all levels compete at our events, and divisions are structured so you're matched with people of a similar level and size. Our referees and staff look after first-time competitors.

What ruleset do you use?

Matches are refereed to IBJJF standards by experienced referees. Check the event page on Smoothcomp for the specific rules and match times for your division.

Can I enter the Absolute division?

Yes, open weight Absolute divisions run at our events. At recent events, entering the Absolute was free if you were already registered in a weight division. Details for each event are on its Smoothcomp page.

What time do I need to arrive?

Events run from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and the division schedule is published on Smoothcomp before the event. Check your division's start time and arrive with plenty of time to weigh in and warm up.

Our 2026 events run at Neptune Stadium in Cork. The venue for each competition is always listed on the event page.

How do I follow the brackets on the day?

Brackets, match order, and mat assignments are all live on Smoothcomp during the event. You can follow everything from your phone.

Are the matches live streamed?

Yes. Every mat is streamed live on YouTube for the full competition day, so friends and family can watch from anywhere. Stream links for past events are on our competitions page.

Where can I find results?

Individual match results are on Smoothcomp straight after the event. Academy standings for each competition are published right here on our results pages, and season leaderboards are on the season pages.
